Many friends use the 3D printer to print the model, they may have some doubts. Obviously there is no problem in the printing process, but the printed model still has a lot of flaws. In fact, some problems can be solved through some tips, so here we will introduce the tips.
1.45 Laws
Usually prominent positions beyond 45 degrees in the model require support when printing. Therefore, in the process of our modeling, we minimize the highlight of the larger angles.
2. Optimization design with less support
The pain of supporting and supporting support can only be experienced, and after going to the support, there will still leave ugly marks on the model, and the process of removing the traces also takes time and effort.
In fact, if you need to add support, you have less thought when modeling. You can design supports or connectors for the position that must be highlighted to reduce the probability of adding support. This saves the trouble of adding support, to support, grinding the support position. Of course, the model does not prevent support, only the hard scalp.
3.Designs its own print base as possible
The bottom of the model and the platform contact area can effectively reduce the warping edge, of course, you can also use the skirt edge, bottom raft (raft) in the slicing software to reduce the warping edge. But the bottom raft is not recommended, connecting your printing time, and cannot remove or damage the bottom of the model.
4.Recognizes the limits of your own printer
According to the situation of their own printer, reasonable design model, such as using the FDM printer to print more detailed manual model, that is obviously boring, to support, repair corners....
5.Reasonably set the tolerances
The ordinary desktop 3D printer, especially active parts, inner holes and other positions. For high accuracy requirements, the tolerance should be set reasonably, such as compensation for the inner hole. It will be troublesome to find out the right tolerances, you need to know more about your own machine.
6.Use housing (Shell)
On some demanding models, do not use too much housing, especially models with small text printed on the surface, too much shell setting, will make these details blurred.
7.Uses line width
When playing with the 3D printer, there is an important but often overlooked variable, that is linewidth. The line width is determined by the diameter of the printer nozzle, most of which are 0.4mm. When printing a model circle, the printer has the smallest diameter of twice the line width, such as the 0.4mm nozzle, the smallest circle, the diameter of 0.8mm. Therefore, the linewidth is well used when modeling.
8.Adjusts the printing direction to ensure optimal accuracy
For the FDM printer, you can only control the accuracy of the Z axis direction (layer thickness), because the accuracy of the XY axis direction has been determined by the line width.
If your model has some fine design, it is best to determine if the model is capable, and are details (vertical) in the Z axis direction. When you design the model, the details are also best placed in a convenient vertical printing position. No, you can cut the model to print it, and then reassemble it.
9.Adjust the print direction to withstand the pressure
When the print piece needs to bear some pressure, to ensure that the model does not damage, break, you have to grow a long eye when modeling and printing.
When modeling, you can properly thicken the position under the pressure according to the direction of the force. When printing, the Z axis direction vertical printing, the adhesion force between layer and layer is limited, the ability to withstand pressure than the XY axis direction horizontal printing.
10.Put your model properly
When printing, the model is also a university question. In addition to adjusting the printing direction mentioned above, you also have to pay attention to the position to minimize the chance of adding support.
Also, if it is a lot of models printed together, the model placement needs to pay attention to the next interval, too close to it is not necessarily a good thing.
